The sky was getting rather dark, and the winds picking up, night was approaching Evertown.
Malachi had been on his little fishing boat all day, and had lost track of time. Though he had gathered lots of strange new items today, it was a good haul.
The red Fluffpaw already set course for land and had taken a seat at the helm, staring down at his compass. It shouldn't take him more than an half an hour to reach Eaglewind.

Malachi could see a marine ship on the horizon. It wasn't an unusual sight here, since marines patroled Eaglewind's bay all the time looking for the pirates. It looked like the ship was slowly edging towards the red FluffPaw's boat.
When it was closer, Malachi could see a commotion going aboard it - some Fluffs shouting, sound of the steel hitting against a steel. Two of the three masts were already broken in half. Suddenly there was a loud screech, and the anchor of the ship started levitating. It slowly flew above the deck and then fell on it, sinking the ship.

The red Fluffpaw watched the commotion in silence, he was motionless. What in the name of the Goddess was happening over there? Without realizing it, he had turned his ship in the marines general direction and was making a speedy trail over.
The ship sank slowly, and the red Fluffpaw helped with keeping it afloat, using his magic to attach large balls of ice the to bottom of the ship, as he drew closer.

Most of the marines were already in the lifeboats, some helping others pack the unconscious ones aboard. A few senior marines were shouting orders, still on the ship.
"Where is he? That little shit, where did he go!?" growled one of them, probably the captain. He was walking back and forth, helping the rest evacuate.

Malachi kept his focus on keeping the ship afloat, waiting until all the fluff paws could make their escape. He heard the marines yelling and perked his ears, they couldn't find their attacker? He nervously glanced around, hoping whomever it was wouldn't come for him next.
He stayed at the front of the ship and leaned over the rail, scouting the water around himself for anything unusual.

Suddenly a paw emerged from the water behind his boat and dug it's claws into the stern. Then the head of the fluff showed up from under the sea. He was wheezing and coughing, shivering in a cold water, trying to stay behind the boat and not draw any attention.
The captain's ears perked up. He looked in the direction of Malachi's boat.

The red fluffpaws continued to watch the water before glancing back up, he noiced that the marine captain was watching him and tilted his head a little, waving an arm at the fluffpaw.
Malachi took this as his cue to leave and headed back to the rear of the boat, changing his course to lead him back to Eaglewind, his original path.
He glanced down the back of the ship, at his rudders before nearly jumping at the sight of the fluffpaw. Malachi stared down for a moment, they looked very young, and cold, the older paw sighed slightly and called down to them, "hold on a second, I'll get a rope," he said, before tossing one down, no more than a few seconds later.

The younger FluffPaw held tightly onto the rope and started to climb it slowly. He was completely soaked, from his almost white hair, to the brown fur and red cape. The captain of the marines didn't watch them anymore, too busy with escaping from the sinking ship with his people.
The red-caped Fluff sneezed and hid under the bench, not wanting to draw anymore attention. He didn't want marines to notice he's here, since it would bring him and his savour lots of trouble.

Malachi watched the small fluffpaw climb all the way up the rope and rolled it back up, placing it on the ground. He swiftly turned the ship back around before glancing over at the young fluffpaw, was this really the one responsible for such destruction? He decided to stay quiet for a bit, was it really that great of an idea to bring him on board?
Once back on track, the red fluffpaw carried a towel over to the bench, dropping it next to the caped kid. "Dry up before you catch a cold," he said gruffly.

"Why did you even help me?" the brat asked, not even looking at the towel. He wasn't going to trust the guy just because he rescued him from marines.

Malachi walked away from the bench and went to the opposite side of the boat and sat on the rail once again, facing the newcomer. "Who knows," he muttered, examining what he could see of the other.

"Don't 'who knows' me" the red caped Fluff moved from under the bench and started to wipe himself with a towel. He rinsed his cape and put it away. The young FluffPaw was still trembling a lot, since the night was slowly settling and it was getting colder and colder outside.

Malachi snickered quietly and watched the other fluffpaw in silence, "keh, how old are you?" He asked, watching the younger paw tremble in the cold.
"Want another towel?" He asked curiously, his tail flickering behind him.

"No, and I'm not going to tell you anyway." the younger fluff exclaimed rudely. He then turned away from Malachi and looked at the marine ship. It was almost completely under the water, the last lifeboats sailing away to the marine base.

Malachi let out a yawn and let his eyes follow where the other was looking, the sinking marine ship. "Alright, suit yourself," the red paw said, "Dont blame me when you get sick," he shifted his eyes downwards. This kid must've been filled with rage to cause that much damage to a ship.
The older fluffpaw reached into his pocket and grabbed a small bag from it, reaching inside he plopped a small chunk of candy into his mouth.

The younger FluffPaw's ears perked up at the sight of a candy. He had a great weakness for anything sweet, but he'd never admit that. Instead he quickly looked away, wrapping himself in a cold cape which didn't really make things better.

The red fluffpaw let out a short sigh when the other wrapped themselves with their still drenched cape.
Shifting his arms he pulled the liquid out from said cape and tossed it over the side of the boat, giving out a deep huff afterwards.
Before Malachi had a chance to put the bag back into his pocket, he noticed the other fluff react to the sweets. He smirked faintly and held out the bag, "want some?" He asked, shaking the bag a little as if to attract the other with the sound.

"No." the red caped Fluff looked away, blushing a bit. He wasn't going to just accept them like that.

"Suit yourself," Makachi said before taking another one out, and another, and another. Slowly munching down on more and more until only a few of the candies lay sitting in the bag.
As he ate them he tried to show just how delicious said candies were, he had gotten them from Arlo after all.

After a while the brown Fluff couldn't take it anymore.
"Okay, I MIGHT want one." he scoffed with a small blush, a bit embarassed. They were slowly getting closer to the land.

Malachi gave off a smirk and held out the bag once more, as he popped one of the last candies into his own mouth. "Go for it then," he said quickly.
He waited for a moment and kicked one of his legs out, "so, are you a mage?" He asked, though from this paws temperament, he didn't really expect a real answer.

"...Yeah." The brown fluff answered shortly before eating the rest of the candies all at once. They were much better than what marines gave him at the ship.

The red fluffpaw sat with an amused look on his face. He watched as the younger paw downed the whole rest of the bag, ears raised quickly when the other ctually answered, he must've been a telekinesis mage, with that power. "My name is Malachi, do you have a name?" He asked after a moment.
Before waiting for an answer he headed to the wheel, changing the direction of the rudders as they drew closer to the shore.

The younger FluffPaw just glared at him untrustfully, which wasn't so intimidating when he had his cheeks full of the candy. He wasn't going to just trust him like this.

Malachi couldn't help but laugh at the smaller fluffpaws reaction. He was clearly trying to be intimidating, but t wasn't working in the slightest. "Alright, don't say, I don't mind," he said as he continued to angle the ship. He lowered the sails allowing the ship to slow down and walked back to the front.
